About the park

Georgetown Waterfront Park offers ten acres of green space, river views, and room to breathe—right at the edge of one of Washington's most storied neighborhoods.

Designed by Wallace, Roberts, and Todd, the park is located on the Potomac River waterfront on K St., N.W., from 30th to 34th St, N.W. Roosevelt Island is directly across the water from the park, and there are views stretching west to Key Bridge and east toward the Kennedy Center and Memorial Bridge.

The western end of the park is quieter and more pastoral, with wide lawns, shaded benches, riverfront overlooks, and a labyrinth that invites you to slow down. As you walk the river-side promenade, keep an eye out for the granite slabs etched with scenes from Georgetown's history as a seaport.

The eastern end of the park has a livelier energy. A large fountain, granite steps leading down to the river's edge, a wide overlook, and a pergola make it a natural gathering place. In the summer, kids splash through the fountain, and other visitors claim a spot on the steps for a picnic, some birdwatching, or just watching rowers and paddlers make their way up and down the Potomac.
